Climbing at Mile End

Climbing with JP & Noon

Top rope & leading.
Arms pumped by the end of it, v v enjoyable, shattered in the afternoon afterwards.

Interval Run - Ldn Br to Flat

W.up - 10 mins run & stretch

7 * 2 mins hd & 1 min ez.

Tiring stuff, really was not feeling up for this but v v pleased with effort & speed.

Stretch & ez jog for last few mins.

Fartlek Run - Ldn Bridge to Flat

W.up - 10 mins & stretch

Fartlek along CSC & canal.

Gentle jog & stretch for last 5 mins.

London Field 2km

2km easy swim, various strokes & drills to help loosen up the body from yesterday.
As it was circa 11 on a Sunday the pool was busy so could not have easily done a timed set.

Enjoyed the swim and the body felt better for it.

Bike ride, Braintree - Bethers & run

Train from Liverpool St to Braintree.

Route back via Great Dunmow, High Roothing, Leaden Roothing, Fyfield, Tylers Green, North Weald Bassett, Epping, Chingford & canal back to flat.  Went off this course at multiple points, must find a sense of direction.  Thought i'd push from the start as I did not want to get the the end and felt like I hadn't, I therefore really felt it in every part of my legs during the last quarter.  I should probably have eaten something on the bike before I stopped in Chingford.  
Another learning point was that I must be more selective when choosing which Ladies to use. 
Mud, cleats & pedals do not make for a quick stop.  Spent far too much time than i'd like trying to get the mud off.
Spent circa 5 hours on the bike then did a 70 min run around the canal/ Vicky Park, did not hammer it, just tried to keep a steady pace.

Pretty shattered when got back.


Had a pint of choco milk, showered, slept for an hour & half, ate then went out for a few drinks.
Legs aching already.


Really pleased with the 6 hours of training. 

Bike ride with Jo D (50 miles +)

Rode from flat to St P's along canal & cycle highway from Angel to St P.
Train to Harpenden & cycled to Milbrook to watch a bike event her team were competing in.
Route went via Lilley, Pulloxhill, Flitwick, Millbrook, Bedford (circa 25 miles). Cycled back on same route. Hilly-ish, legs gave up at points but pleased.

Climbing at Mile End

With JP & Noon

First outing for my harness, enjoyed it.
Was better than in 2010 when doing a beginners course at The Castle.
Arms were aching at end and was shattered when got back to the flat.

Bike ride to Epping Forest & back plus run

27/4/11 08.15

Easy/ steady cycle on canal section going out, am getting better at the bike handling side of riding.
Pushed once off canal, took wrong direction within EF so did an extra hill.
Once back on course enjoyed the route which included a few good hills (route to be added).
Pushed the journey back along canal.
Pleased with ride, could have pushed more earlier on.

Once back, did two full laps of Vicky Park, circa 23 mins then 22 mins.  On second lap, i did some fartlek work on the straights to break it up.  I wanted the hold my time from initial lap so happy with splits (to be added). Pleased with effort on run and how my legs felt good.
